Odd behavior- any answers??

Post by melski84 »

Hi,
I am a 1st time IRN owner, Can anyone tell me what its mean when my 9 month IRN approches its toys with its wings out, body very low and then stands in front of the toy and sways back and forth while stamping his feet?? Started this about a week ago.

I am by no means an experienced keeper...I've only had our IRN since May...I'm wondering if its a display of dominance?

Sounds like male behavior to me. Your bird is about the right age to start displaying. He's basically dancing for his toys :D try putting him in front of a mirror. If he is a male he should show a lot of interest in dancing for himself.
I am owned by my birds...and I wouldn't have it any other way :D

If you think that's fun, wait for the vocalizations! You gotta hear it to believe it. :D

And if you think all of THAT is fun, wait until the regurgitation starts lol. And when it happens on your bare toes! (Or is it just me? Hehe)

Haha! Biggles used to regurgitate on my hand, on one finger at a time like he was feeding his babies. And on his toys, mirrors, alsorts!

R.I.P Biggles. God I loved that bird :(
