As we've headed into our summer, 20 plus degrees. Bobby's started to drop feathers again.
When we got him he lost around 6 but this week alone he's dropped over 30, some medium ones and some larger ones. But mostly the little ones, and the diddy ones with fluffy bits attached. This is without the total fluffy ones which I counted in the region of 20 at the bottom of the cage.
I'm getting quite the collection for a 'bobby pillow'
Is this normal? Will they lose lots and lots of their feathers like this in a big moult?
None look odd. And some dropped out while he flew to me today for training, poor mite.
Anything I should be giving him as extra treats, and bar misting him every day?
He doesn't look bad at all, so I'm just hoping this is really normal for this time of year.
In 24 hours he's lost fifteen feathers some medium and some smaller ones. What do your birds look like? Do they go scraggly lookin? then get better?
