Notes from Parrot Training workshop
I am attending a Parrot Training workshop today and tomorrow and I thought I'd take my notes live on here so that a) I have a record of what I'm learning and b) you guys can share my learning.
I look forward to sharing with you on here!
Ellie.

Re: Notes from Parrot Training workshop
three things that trigger reproductive behaviour in the wild:
1. diet high in carbs and fats
2. having a pair bond
3. access to a cavity for breeding.

Ellie,
Thanks so much for the notes!
They made up for missing Pam Clarks first session, such a brilliant topic. If every single new parrot owner read those notes and acted on them, the 'problem parrot' would cease to exist.
I can't wait 'til tomorrow!

Pam was pretty amazing. I sat in the front row which meant up close with the birdies being trained. I'll try to save u a spot!

WOW!!!! Thank you SO much! I was really upset I couldn't go to the workshop this weekend. Now I can sit here and read and re-read your notes and feel like I was there the whole time. Thanks Ellie. This is great!

Super Well Done. Elleelectrons.
Posted in great detail.
I take it you enjoyed such a fabulous event?
I have meet Barbara and also follow her on Goodbirdgroup.
She is super at putting on great workshops and this one being a two day event would of been special.

Re: Notes from Parrot Training workshop
Thanks Clawnz and Sahbear. It was a great event. I learnt a lot. I've heard Barbara speak before so I knew what to expect. She was great, as always. I had never heard Pam speak before and I found her to be excellent too. They have different presentation styles, so alternating them as speakers was really useful.
I came away with a few ideas on things to change... and I felt that I haven't been doing too badly with them so far, but I definitely needed the extra 10% to improve things for the better today.
Interestingly, this morning things were going well, until i got a Janey bite... I've got a few ideas on how I can improve to avoid this in the future. I'm sure she knew I was changing things up a little and she wasn't 100% happy with that. I'm confident we'll get there in the end though.

It was so great, and I'm so pleased to have your notes to refer to, Ellie, cos I can't read my scribbles!
I particularly liked Pamela Clarks talks.
I am also trying to implement things I learnt!
I was also very taken by the video of Barbaras bird singing happy birthday for attention.
