Seed taking

Post by Athame »

Hi i have 2 IRN, heeki who is 16 weeks and Neya who is 14 weeks.
we only got neya 2 weeks ago and has settled in beautifully, Heeki was a bit put out when we first brought Neya home however they are adjusting well
The are in separate cages as Heeki is a little cage protective, however the play on the play gym together and get along along very well most of the time.
When Neya is eating Heeki comes over and tries to take the out of her mouth, this doesnt go donw to well lol

Is this a sign of dominance or is this bonding behaviour? Heeki is taking the food before Neya chews it as well.

It is only this time that they really disagree other than when one tried to get in the ones cage lol

i look forward to hearing your comments
Cheers Dawn

Mine do the same thing, although they are caged together. I'm not certain, but I've always presumed it was a dominance thing,

Thats just kids being kids. Later in their life it will just be opportunistic feeding.
