Two Male Birds Fighting

Post by billalkhan2010 »

Hi I have an African Ringneck that is 3. I have had it for about a year. Just recently I bought a grey indian ringneck and it is three months old both of them are not handfed but I tamed the African and in the process of the Indian but when I put them in the same cage the African (which is smaller) chases the Indian which runs around and gets pecked. Is there anything I can do to make them friends?

im guessing you put the new one into the africans cage. They are very muchly the same as us,we dont like a stranger just coming into our house and making themself at home and neither do most birds. When i get a new aviary bird i catch the bird that is already in the aviary and put it into a smaller cage and then try to let both birds out into the aviary at the same time, this way they are both a bit shook up and they dont seem to just go at eachother because they are more worried about the fact they got moved around. Try not to push them onto eachother and in time they may become friends.
