my bird always tries to kiss me

Post by jimmyjack »

salvador is always trying to get into our mouthes. he makes a concerted effort, even prying our lips open. its very cute, but my guess is not very hygeinic?

anyone else have similar problem? or know what to do about it, beoynd not letting him on our shoulder?

ha, nudie does it too.
Not really sure how to stop it.
Nudie talks when he's close to my lips so when I answer him he has a quick opportunity to try and dive in, and if I don't answer he also tries to pry my lips open.
He loses interest after a while so its not such a problem for us.
But like you said jimmyjack cute but maybe not hygeinic?

There is a lot of concern about sharing saliva with parrots. A parrot's system can't really handle the level of bacteria we house in our own mouths.

I've been called 'birdbrained' before, but somehow I don't think this is what they meant. say:hah-nay
