http://www.myparrotshop.com/ is good but expensive.

The best place to get toys and any other parrot supplies is the Parrot Society shop. There starting prices are usually lower than most retail shops AND they give members 20% discount on top of that. I make my membership back every year just in the discount alone. The problem with them though is that they don't have a good website to purchase from. You can call them though and discuss what you want and I'm sure they'll help you. I believe they are working on an eCommerce site but I don't know how far away it is.

If you can get to Logan (south of Brisbane), they open the store twice a week and it is a great place to go and browse. I make a special trip to Brisbane whenever I can just to go there.

Best wishes & happy shopping!

ah yeah, i checked that site out - couldnt figure out how to buy! there were not prices or anything in the product list, and not too much else - maybe i'll shop around and figure out what i want, and give them a call. thanks ellie!

im south of sydney, so unlikely i'll be making it to brizzy :P

maybe i'll just have to either get creative, or succumb to the petbarn rort...

From the Parrot Society shop I know they have a baffle cage, the creative foraging systems (that's the plastic container that holds a cardboard box - mine never took to that one too well, but I think it's a good one, just mine didn't figure it out.... haven't tried it again lately though) and kong toys. I also bought something that I think is called a snack tray (looks similar to http://www.midlandparrots.com/snack-tray--new-601-p.asp). My birds loved the snack tray.... but they well and truly demolished it... they loved chewing through the wood. I think I've got about two bits of wood hanging onto it for dear life. Occasionally now I put it in their cage, put a treat in the snack tray and cover it in newspaper. I seem to recall it was reasonably priced.

I've bought heaps of other stuff from them but I think that's it for the foraging toys. I can't wait until they get a better website. I'm hoping to pop by there on Saturday.... if there is anything you want, I can take photos with prices and send them to you if you like.... just let me know what you'd like me to investigate for you.

Oh, and with regard to my parrot shop... everything in there is of really high quality and I definitely recommend them.... and they've been really good to me.... but they are a bit more expensive... but probably not more expensive than your local pet store.

Enjoy!

argh damn i missed that ellie - i guess it pays to check everyday. if you go anytime soon, im just after some neat foraging toys really.

ive been well into the crafts lately, making toys and playstands that have been instant successes. just made a stand that looks way better than one of the ones of parrotshop! (theirs is $185) and only took me an hour. starting work on an ultimate playstand. one that will entertain them all day. i love the idea of replacing the cage with a good playstand. i'll post photos when their ready

thanks lauren - i like the idea of buying toys that contribute to a good cause. i'll have a look!

It's ok, I didn't end up going anyway.... so when I next go will take some pics & prices of foragers and post it. Might not be for a while though.

Anyone who is in Qld, the Parrot Society has the State Bird Fair coming up soon. http://www.parrotsociety.org.au/index.p ... amic&id=68
I've only been once before but if you get in early, the Parrot Society stand has some great bargains. Lots of other parrot supply vendors are there too and breeders bring their birds in to sell.
