My 4 month old IRN Krishna is extremely quiet - a few times he will make sounds but almost always he is super quiet. Is this normal for IRNs at this age?

Ours probably took up to 12 months, maybe longer before they developed their strong personalities and part of that process was learning to make birdie noises. Personally, I wouldn't worry about the lack of noise yet... I'd just enjoy it while it lasts! Is the bird active enough?

Yes! Ink is now, just a little shy of 6 months and I was so worried because she was very quiet when I got her. They just have to get a bit of confidence, in you and their new home. :3
Ink is still fairly quiet but she clucks in her sleep and she wakes me up every morning! <3
I'm much less worried about her shyness and I anticipate she'll get much louder the older she gets. XD

A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song.
