Hi, how old is you male? it is possible tht she wants to breed. if you want to breed with them put the female is another cage right next to him for about 2 weeks. then put them together.

he is a bit older. i have her in a cage about 2 - 3 metres away. should she be closer? they can see each other.

333greenbean333 said it perfect! Keep them separate as the female will certainly kill the male if not supervised. Let them get to know each other by placing them in different cages. Females can be VERY territorial and will stop at nothing to protect their territory--so take caution.
If they don't bond, take the pair and place them in a new location away from their current settings. This will help reduce unwanted territorial behavior. The two birds will cling together as the environment will be unfamiliar--once they are bonded--place them back together in their breeding location.
I have also partially clipped some of my females to ensure they cannot chase the male. This should be a last resort if she is too aggressive!
Hope this helps and please keep us updated!

Re: New Hen is to Bossy
I left the Hen in her cage and placed it in with the Cock. left her in there for 4 days. on the 2nd day the Cock was sitting on top of her cage. i have since let her out and they seem to be getting on fine. they are not on the same perch yet, but she is not trying to force him down to the ground. so far so good......fingers crossed.....thanks again all for the help
