Re: Bullying
I am guessing your birds are still quite young?
Has anything changed in their routine that could have upset either of them?
I have noticed with my IRNs that I have handraised, just after weaning stage they tend to get a little picky with each other. In the end the fights get so constant that I end up separating them and let them 'play' with each other out of their cages. But after awhile, even that time becomes squabble time.
I put it down to if they were in the wild, this behaviour would occur naturally. They hang together until they learn the ways of the wild then go off on their own to find a new life with a potential mate.
I guess this 'in house' fighting is natures way to help prevent inbreeding between parents and siblings.
I don't know if that theory is right but it sounds good to me!!
In all animals you will always find a 'top dog'.
By the way, lovely birdies you have there.

Re: Bullying
Hey thanks for the reply!!!!
yeah i think theyre anywhere between 6-9 months.
They are Crazeeee muppets, have had them for just over a month now and know very little about their background!
You can never get the correct info from sales people here in Dubai, it's very annoying... what to do!!?
I will separate them soon, just want to find a decent cage with wheels on first that's not going to cost the earth.
I really enjoy spending time with them, their cage is near/almost on my desk and find great joy when i look up and they're watching what I'm doing, even better if i have a video playing, they love sounds of the rain forest on youtube. you can tell that they can pick out all the different sounds!
I have resigned to just being patient and let them take their time with me i'm sure theyll work with me soon. It's great to see the potential in one of them though(mojo) he's always interested in what i'm doing and doesnt seem that scared of me at all, just a little cautious!
Any observations or suggestions you have that will help would be welcome, tell me about yours!
Thank you i'll add some extra pics up now

Re: Bullying
Fantastic photos! Make sure to give them lots of treats from your hands! In time the parrots will look to you for treats and down-the-road, once you have believed you earned their trust, you can start a positive reinforcement program to tame them even further--stunning photos:)
