EGG laying problem

Post by Amk Khan »

I have a pair of Alex both male & female are tamed & at breeding stage as confirmed by one of the expert & I give them nest box in January.

The hen is most of the time in nest box & I can feel the progress of egg at their egg pocket in bottom & expecting laying of eggs, I also once saw them during mating & after that I was sure for eggs in 10 to 15 days.

at the end of march (27th to 30th) I have noticed that the egg pocket are going to be normal & I feel that hen laid egg successfully. I not taken it seriously & check the go to check the eggs on 10th of April but I was surprised that nothing was found in the nest box & now the hen is always outside the box & waiting for the someone to interact with her.

What was that??? is the hen have problem in laying eggs or ELSE??

waiting for seniors reply.

You need to be more observant and monitor the nest box regularly. It is possible that she laid her eggs and she or the cock bird could have eaten the eggs. This is not an uncommon problem with alexandrines.
