New Blue Boy

Post by TD »

Purchased a new IRN yesterday, a Blue male. Could be split albino according to the seller.

Will pair up with my female Albino. Can someone tell me what offspring they would produce, if the new male is in fact split albino?

Cheers

Heya there, lovely looking boy.

If he is just a normal blue, then all young will be blue but the males will be split ino (albino).

If he is split ino, then girls will be either pure blue or albino, and cock birds will be albino or blue split ino.

Thanks guys! I'm usually pretty fussy about where I get my birds from, but this bloke had the most amazing set up, he had 3 breedig pairs of Alex's, 3 breeding pairs of Ecky's, and lots of other interesting birds, all in big well kept aviaries. A real caring enthusiast who does it for the love & not for the money, like all of us here.

As you can see Fah, my mutation knowledge is (very) limited, but learning by looking back at posts on this site. Thanks for responding.

haha, no, I am a Melburnian like you!!

He is about 4 years old, and has bred once for the previous owner and had both blue and albino chicks. I have an albino hen, so can't wait till breeding season!
