I did not know we had a thread for other birds? That is until I see this one.
So Budgie Blue's story so far.
One of my clients has Budgies and Finches. And while having a coffee looking into a small aviary, I see this Budgie with bad deformed feet and nails growing back into its flesh.
So me being me offered to take on the task of clipping her nails.
The process means clipping, leaving for a for weeks for the quick to move back and then clipping again.
So I went over with the gear and did the first clip. A month later I thought it time for another clip, but did have time to do the clip while out that way, so said I would bring her home and do them.
When clipping as hard back as possible the chances of a bleeder is very high, so I needed time to watch to make sure if there was a problem I could Quick Stop the bleeding.
I got her home and got hold of her. The first thing I notice is her nostrils were blocked.
She was not looking good and I thought it best if she was booked in to the AV, to which they replied they would not bother with that and she was finished then.
I took it on myself to keep her and see what I could do for her. After some messing around I got her nose clear.
She was allowed to fly with my Tiels in the conservatory and house. Over the next few months she cleaned up and started to look like a new paint job had been done on her.
The stunning upgrade in her condition has happened without her having any moult as yet. Which goes to show better diet and environment can improve feather condition.
Her is my Budgie Blue.
All her photos are here. http://s815.photobucket.com/user/clawin ... t=3&page=1

Ho Yes!
Very much so, I was never going to let her go back to them.
She is part of my flock now.
