Cooking Bags

Post by Christie »

I thought I remembered something about cooking bags, the kind you put your meal in and then bake in the oven, were toxic to birds.

After much searching I found it, and thought with Thanksgiving coming up in the US that it needed to be stated again.

*COOKING BAGS, especially those treated with PTFE emit harmful fumes during cooking that kill birds. Any substance that releases smoke and/or fumes when heated should be avoided in bird homes.

I'm hoping that we all have a safe and happy holiday season!

Thank you! I had to look up the info after telling my husband that we couldn't use cooking bags. I just hope it helps all the FID Parronts out there. :)

Black Friday

Post by BigChicken »

Thanks for that link. Black Friday in Pittsburgh. No traffic as I drove to work at 4 AM this morning because all of the morons, er, um.. I mean festive shoppers were already at the malls. Just heard there was a fight at one of the toy stores over a X-box, and a 20 car pile up on the way to another. Rookies, don’t they know all you need to do is go to the quickie mart Christmas morning?
