Got my new ring neck today . He is two years old. Done a couple of screeching since he's been here. What I would like to know is ... Does anyone know why ? ? when he is in his cage , looking at me , he starts to pulls his wings apart from his body and goes sometimes in a bit of a cower position whilst doing it , lol. ( This behaviour is directed at me )
Congratulations, this is a friendly gesture! Sometimes I play a game with mine where I duck my head and stand up and lean back and bend my body around like he is doing. I think he likes it, but of course who really knows. Try playing with your bird and see how you like it! This behaviour is also largely seasonal, so enjoy it while you can.
