female irn

Post by mariagr »

I have a female irn handreared and devoted to me, but last time she become crazy all the time trying to make a nest( she is 2 years old). I'm about to buy a male for her but am afraid if she'l accept him. Is is good solution for her behavior. Will she change after this breeding time? Please help me cause I feel like loosing my friend. :(

If you want to keep her as a pet then best not to breed her. It is the instinct of living things to want to reproduce and hormones (and other biological factors) causes her to behave as such during breeding season. Don't worry... it will come to pass.

thanks Jay. One friend of me have an alexandrian male and offer him to mate with my female irn, but I think that it's impossible. Is alexandrian too big for irn, even if I've heard about these mutations.
And I prefer her for a pet, if breeding will change her behavior and if this time when she's nippy now will pass I'd wait better.
