Violet & Cobalt pair

Post by Ring0Neck »

I found on the net saying: " Violet Blue in combination with Cobalt will result in a deeper Violet color which will be a jewel for the eye"

My questions is: Does this result offspring have a name? or would it be called plain violet-cobalt??

anyone has a picture of the above? wold love to see it

To avoid confusion, it is advisable just to call it with the color genes that it carries. So Violet Cobalt would be pertinent.

I will actually be receiving such a bird on a trade within the month. I'll be posting pictures of it. What I've noticed with the Violet and Cobalt birds is that their shade or coloration varies from one Cobalt to another, one Violet to another.... no different than Blue birds compared to other Blue birds.

The Violet Cobalt breeder tells me that a Violet Cobalt would look Purplish with a Violet tail. I've never seen one in the flesh so that remains to be seen.

Those pictures actually came from Chriskoi but I personally prefer the Violet mutation over the Cobalts. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Can't say it enough.

AQUA IRN

Post by Ring0Neck »

Aqua Ringnecks & Lacewing Aqua

How much are they in US & other countries?

I am looking at buying one but they are all over $1000AU
Is there a good way to distinguish aquas from other mutations.
Here in AU they are pretty rare, just wondering if it is worth getting one and perhaps try to pair up with the violet hen? Wondering also as it would be hard to sell the offspring being so expensive.
Thanks for your opinion guys
