Older Hatchlings- When to seperate???

Post by Peachykeen »

They get really beaky after eating - begging food from each other.

I worry about eyes. Is there a recommended time to separate them.. or do they do this and eyes turn out ok. You would think they would be blind in the wild after all that for 7 weeks. They are vigorous!

I really don't separate them until they are weaned and fully feathered and perching, then I put them in their own cage just to get them used to being alone until sold. The little tiffs their having is just to establish pecking order.

Yeah- I didn't really want to separate them. They settle down after about 5 minutes but dang they are all over each others eyes.

They are sweeties. One of them is a fraidy cat..lol She whines when she hears a "slightly" loud noise. The others are like... yeah?? Whats up with her.

:D Of course thats my baby Kay!

Thanks Donna- I just wanted to make sure there was not a recommended time to kinda separate them for accidental incidents or anything. It's good exercise. I love to watch them wrestle.
