Out of the brooder and into a cage.

Post by Gemstone »

Geeze you never realise how much there is to learn.

new question.
the babies are not green and looking cuter than ever. 2 of them have thier heads fully covered, with the youngest not far behind.

when can i pull them out of the brooder? it's starting to get a little cramped in there.

the 2 older ones are nearly fully feathered, only a small patch on thier bottoms to finish coming thru, but it is pinned and covered in down.
wings, head and breasts are all green and wonderful.

edit: the oldest is now 6 weeks old and the youngest 5 weeks.

Depending on what the weather is like there, I would say if its nice and warm they should be able to go into a cage. Meika (alex) isnt fully feathered yet but has been doing ok because it has been pretty hot here.

hasn't been too bad, my over night lows in the house are getting to about 15-18 C.

they fully feathered now and doing great, still covering them over just for the little bit of xtra warmth tho.
