i have just pulled emeralts babies from the nest for hand rearing.
they are very nice birds and emerald has done a great job looking after them

only problem is everywhere i look i con't find anything on amounts to feed.
i'm feeding every 4 hours ( they are 2-3 weeks old) and currently feeding 5 mls of kaytees exact HFF.
thier crops seem full but they keep asking for more.
i ignore thier pleas for feeds when thier cops still have some in it, but they are empting well before thier next feed.

the last thing i wanna do is strech the crop, i had to deal with that when we got amazon.

any help on quantities of feeding would me much apprecieated.

Age of Chick Feeding Times Feeding
Amounts
1-4 days Every two hours 1 - 2 cc's
5-7 days Every three hours 2 - 3 cc's
8-14 days 7:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 3:00 PM, 7:00 PM, 11:00 PM 4 - 6 cc's
15-24 days 7:00 AM, 12:00 PM (Noon), 5:00 PM, 11:00 PM 7 - 10 cc's
25-34 days 7:00 AM, 5:00 PM, 11:00 PM 11 - 15 cc's
35-44 days (fledging) 7:00 AM, 7:00 PM 11 - 15 cc's
45 days to weaning 7:00 PM 11 - 15 cc's

The crop should be firm and round not bulging. After babies are 1 week old I don't feed through the night so the crop has time to empty completely in 24 hours. Thickening up your formula a little may keep them from begging for more.

they are all on 15 cc now and just throw it back and still ask for more.
when i thickened up the mix their poos went firm and no liquid with it, so i have changed it to being thinker in the middle of the day, so first thing in the am and last thing at night they get a normal mix to keep hydration up, and that seems to be working well.
