It never gets colder than 60 deg F (15 deg C) inside my house so I never really had the need for a brooder. It helps that I pull my chicks when they are starting to feather. At night, the chicks cuddle together to keep each other warm.

If you have an automatic brooder, 40% humidity should be perfect. I asked my handfeeder what temperature she sets hers and she gave me the following settings:

2-5 weeks old ---- 80 deg F (27 deg C)
5-8 weeks old ---- 75 deg F (24 deg C)
8 weeks+ ---- room temp
