chirping egg, getting concerned!

Post by pizzaguru »

I have this pair that layed first egg 30 days ago, this morning I heard some chirping inthe nest but no cracked eggs. Should I be concerned? Anything I can do?

This thread isn't your exact situation but you might find some relevant information in it.

Google Faster. Consult a breeder in person, even if it's not an IRN breeder. It is my understanding that chicks can be perfectly fine peeping inside the egg before hatch, but I have also read that sometimes they might need help. An experienced breeder (hopefully of IRNs) might be able to help you figure out how long to chill out before you panic and think of stepping in. By the same token, if it needs help, mom may step in like she's supposed it. Hopefully it's all hatched out by the time you read this.
