What is the best type of nesting box to use for the indian ringnecks?
What is the right size hole for the entrance to the box?

Sorry for the late reply, been so busy!

To answer your questions about the entrance of the nest box.

The size of the hole does not matter. Ringnecks are not picky breeders and will breed in just about any box if it’s large enough. Some breeders use horizontal boxes, while others use boxes that are deep. I happen to use the boxes that are deep. Inside, there is a small platform next to the entrance with wire mesh leading to the bottom, like a ladder.

If I were to suggest a box, I would suggest something for a cockatiel or conure. Most boxes can be found at your local bird shop or one can be constructed. You don’t have to be particular about the style or shape. When Ringnecks want to breed, they’ll use any box provided with in reason.

Hope this helps :D

Best Wishes
