Hi All,
I was hoping for some guidance from you all, re: standard practice in leg banding IRNs in Australia.
My questions are what are the standard practices for IRNs Australia wide?
Left leg or Right Leg?
Leg band Characters upside down (towards birds body) or Leg band Characters right side up (towards birds toes)?
Is there a world/Australian standard in this practice?
Looking forward to your advice.
David

Re: Question - RE: Leg Bands (Australia)
I'm probably of no help.. but-
I'd asked a similar question (on a fb group) about what lettering/info should be on the band and where to order and got no answers
From what I've read, reading everyone else's posts or questions I've gathered that it doesn't matter what side the letters are facing, or which leg to ring- some alternate (easier identification between same mutations or sexes) some don't.
I did all of my chick's left legs as it was easiest for me.

Re: Question - RE: Leg Bands (Australia)
It really depends if you are right handed or left handed and how you handle the bird.Left leg or Right Leg?
after a while you do it without even thinking about it.
