Hen not going down.

Post by Fourie »

I paired up my Deep Blue split clairtail cock with a Blue clairtail hen that is a 2011 bird. She laid 3 eggs so far but doesnt go down
on the eggs to breed. How long can I wait until I remove the eggs , before they become spoiled.

Ringnecks can lay up to 5-6 eggs per clutch. My maximum was 6 eggs. They lay 1 egg every day to second day(have been known cases for longer time periods between eggs). She should start incubating the eggs once the last egg has been laid. Then its roughly 24 days(can be up to about 30 days) and if the eggs are fetile they should start hatching. You can test for fertility from about 10-15days by candling them.
