First of all congratulations on having the sense to swap the eggs so soon. I too have used other species of birds to incubate and as long as the eggs are similar in size and colour there is no problem. The hard part for me would be to hand rear from day one. I have done it from 14 days but never so early in life. If you are confident about doing it then go for it. At the end of the day you have nothing to lose having got so far. Good luck with the rearing.

Can't offer you any advice, Molossus, as I'm not a breeder But good luck with the hand-rearing!
