Re: Pairing Pallid Turquoise Blue with ????????
Hi
Results for pairing with a grey hen:
1.0 turquoise(parblue)Blue pallid
x 0.1 grey(sf) blue
% from all 1.0
25.0% 1.0 grey(sf) blue /pallid
25.0% 1.0 blue /pallid
25.0% 1.0 grey(sf) turquoise(parblue)Blue /pallid
25.0% 1.0 turquoise(parblue)Blue /pallid
% from all 0.1
25.0% 0.1 grey(sf) blue pallid
25.0% 0.1 blue pallid
25.0% 0.1 grey(sf) turquoise(parblue)Blue pallid
25.0% 0.1 turquoise(parblue)Blue pallid
Results for pairing with a lutino hen:
1.0 turquoise(parblue)Blue pallid
x 0.1 ino
% from all 1.0
50.0% 1.0 pallidIno /turquoise(parblue)
50.0% 1.0 pallidIno /blue
% from all 0.1
50.0% 0.1 pallid /turquoise(parblue)
50.0% 0.1 pallid /blue
If your lutino hen is split for blue or turquoise you would have better results:
1.0 turquoise(parblue)Blue pallid
x 0.1 ino /blue
% from all 1.0
25.0% 1.0 pallidIno /turquoise(parblue)
25.0% 1.0 blue pallidIno
25.0% 1.0 pallidIno /blue
25.0% 1.0 turquoise(parblue)Blue pallidIno
% from all 0.1
25.0% 0.1 pallid /turquoise(parblue)
25.0% 0.1 blue pallid
25.0% 0.1 pallid /blue
25.0% 0.1 turquoise(parblue)Blue pallid
OR
1.0 turquoise(parblue)Blue pallid
x 0.1 ino /turquoise(parblue)
% from all 1.0
25.0% 1.0 pallidIno /turquoise(parblue)
25.0% 1.0 pallidIno /blue
25.0% 1.0 turquoise(parblue)Blue pallidIno
25.0% 1.0 turquoise(parblue) pallidIno
% from all 0.1
25.0% 0.1 pallid /turquoise(parblue)
25.0% 0.1 pallid /blue
25.0% 0.1 turquoise(parblue)Blue pallid
25.0% 0.1 turquoise(parblue) pallid
If the lutino hen is not split for blue or turquoise, I would probably then go for the grey hen, but if the lutino hen is split, then I would go for that one. It is a personal choice on colour preference though. Are those your only options regarding hens?

The blue pallidino has a white head and a pale blueish tinge to the body whereas the pallidino/blue has a yellow head with a pale greenish tinge to the body(blue will be the hidden gene and will only show with offspring from that bird).

Green pallid hen

The males should be slightly lighter in colour.

Is the chicken wire safe to use in aviaries? I thought that wire was too thin for ringnecks and always assumed they would chew through it. I'm sure its a lot less expensive.
