Female Feeding Male

Post by Mrs. K »

Greetings~

I've read through a lot of the posts and from what I can tell, our birds (both 3, first season together) are doing "all the right things". I have not seen them mating although there was lots of displaying by the male.

Clara (lutino) pretty much keeps Emmett (normal green) in the nest box and she will go in there with him and stay about 75% of the time. This time is increasing. But more often than not, we don't see him out alone.

Clara will feed him at the door to the nestbox. It's interesting to watch, but I don't understand why she does this. There are no eggs. Is this normal?

Thank you for any suggestions about this situation.
