hello guys ,

i just wanted to know , if i can use a shoe box , paint box , or an ice cream box for breeding IRN's or budgies.

if no then is there anything that i could use to make a breeding box for my birds which could be found around the house.
there is no pet store near my house, so i would like to create one if possible before i travel far to go and buy one. also i know how to make a wooden one , but i would like to see other suggestions =]

also do i have to clean the cage when the hen lays the eggs (as they are not tamed and wings are not trimmed which mite damage the egg) or should i leave them until the baby is born ?

thank you !

no they would chew thru cardboard in a mater of minutes it would be best to make one out of plywood or have one made by a sheet metal shop or air condition shop that does sheet metal duct work and no you shouldn't have to clean a nest box until the babies are weaned

how about a paint box ( made from tint ) , they wont be able to chew through that , but even after cleaning the paint box , you can still smell it a bit , is that harmful ?
