Urgent help!!!!

Post by uniquebloke »

A female bird has escape the cage leaving behind three young chicks and a father behind.
These baby chicks are about approx 1 and half weeks old.

Will the chicks die without the mother? What should I do?

I would be happy if you reply with the answer as soon as possible. The chicks are in nest box without mother overnight.

Thanks

Hi,
sometimes the male would look after the chicks but I would keep an eye on to see if he is going in the box. If he is, look in the box and see if the babies crops are full. if they are then the farther is looking after the babies. if he is not. I would take the chicks in. in the website there is a whole lot of information on hand raising babies. hope every thing goes well!

I think in that situation I'd pull them and hand-rear them to make sure they get the best start! There is lots of hand-rearing information on the board... good luck!!
