Hey there!
I wanted to ask a Ringneck breeder if I could take 2 feathers
out of the bird I wanted and DNA test it? Would they allow me to do it with say,
2 birds? I don't know , I just want to know before I say it; it may be abit akward !
Do you think they will allow?
I want a green male, 3 months old
Could I ask this question to the IRN breeder...?

Hi mick
With both of our birds, the breeder did the DNA testing and then added that onto the bill. Quite often they will want to know what the sex of the chicks are too as they can then tell other prospective buyers. Rather than ask for the feathers, I would ask them if they can do the testing.
How are you going locating a breeder? I'm not familiar with the Central Coast of NSW.
Our blue IRN came from this breeder:

You could also try the Parrot Society's website, not sure if they have a list of breeders on there or not.

Best wishes!

multations. But of course, multations are expensive! They have the most common like
green, blue, yellow ect. They wouldn't be ready until mid Oct but I can wait!
I'll ask him if he can test the birds himself. I'm really hoping for a male!
Fingers crossed

Hi Mick
Glad you've found a local breeder. Best wishes! All good things come to those who wait!
