Also dear Julie first, I think it is not so easy to find this bird previous owner. and second, If he really would loved him, he should just keep him safe and didn't let him go! (OK, maybe I'm wrong because I'm not used to keep birds I just had cats and they were really free to stay with me or leave...

treats on a skewer do work realllly well for getting birds back into the cage. with a bit of a faff on we usually get Spit into his cage using the perch, hes got a big door on his cage so we are lucky, because we have to put the perch in so thats its not near the side of the door otherwise he grabs ...

I got some nice photos of Spit yesterday when we were playing in the kitchen. We move him near the back door so he can watch the birds in the garden (he usually shouts at them hah!) and so he can get some sunshine and fresh air. something interesting outside http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh163/...

Dry Feet?
O.k, this may sounds like a stupid question, ive never owned a bird before, so i dont know what their feet are meant to look like. I've got a photo of Spits feet because i dont know if the skin is too dry of if they are meant to look like that. When we first got him it looked like he had dandruff on...

for the first time today i let spit out of his cage while i cleaned it, but instead of putting him on his play stand across the room with my boyfriend watching him, i let him play on top. i re-arranged his cage and let him help me place his toys. he wasnt as stressed out as he normally is about me t...

It works with Spit even if we pretend, we hold the food up to our mouths and look like idiots prentendin to eat it a...

I'm just reading in the 'Introduce Yourself' bit at how much people paid for their IRN. hundreds of pounds?!?!?!!!! We paid £40 for Spit, and £15 for a crappy second hand ex-budgie cage. I'm thinking he was that cheap because he was from an aviary and never held, or maybe even wild caught from down ...

Spit.. still needing advice (long post)
Right, i spent last night trawling through posts to see what i could find about behaviour, training and trying to tame this beast, but everything people suggest ive already tried. Since the move, Spit has seemed a hell of a lot happier than he used to be. He sings more, he talks more, he has a lot m...

maybe shes just excited? Spit does the same when hes 'hyper-active'... like a little child running around with a tonne of energy. he runs back and forth on his perch for ages and then will climb up the bars and round back to the perch and do it again and again. He usually does it when he wants atten...
