Re: Welcome Mr. Sinbad Silly Pants!
Well, I found the hitch in the plan. Today I put them together in Sinbad's cage for a few hours and all seemed uneventful until I went by to offer Rocky some treats. He was glad to have them but Sinbad yelled at me for being so close for so long. It *appears* that his yelling puts Rocky on edge. Roc...

Bird Cage Factory Photos
I found photos of the HQ Factory on their website. Thought it was interesting, wanted to share. Their translator made a few minor errors, so don't be thinking there is really a "dydraulic" press there....... www.hqpetcages.com/about.html I am very pleased with my HQ cages and I suspect tha...

Re: Welcome Mr. Sinbad Silly Pants!
I have a bit of thinking to do about it, and some more sleepovers to get underway. The easiest for me would be to join the cages end to end, although the prospect of making it double high is also attractive. I'm not sure if they would more appreciate height or width. If it goes double high, then we ...

The boys spent an unsupervised afternoon together in Sinbad's cage. When I got back after dark, they were sleeping on the same perch. AWWWWWWW!!!!!!! Time to start thinking about joining the cages. It may take some time to make that happen.

If "babying" includes snuggling, think extra hard about the Ringneck and how you would feel if the bird never accepted you touching. Some accept it and some do not.

Use high value treats to get her back in the cage. First, give her treats (either by hand or in the cup) until she understands the steps that lead up to treats happening. For instance, Rocky absolutely knows the sound of the jar opening or the treat hitting the steel cup. He doesn't have to see the ...

Melika, thank you. I'm afraid your reply doesn't fill me with happiness because now I'm twice as concerned about disease. I can't get Rocky to sit and pose like Hane. I would think it might be par for the course - they do get excited and really nail the toys from time to time. No actual data from our house, though, just conjecture.

Hi again. :P See if you can't figure out what treat or toy will work to distract, and offer it *before* the bite. You definitely can learn to predict the bite, and so you can offer some fun that is not compatible with biting. Consider it this way: You are sitting in the park with your diabetic frien...

Hi. I also think you should try to lay low on the hand wobble. I confess I do use it, myself, on rare occasion. Not really wanting to hijack this thread, but..... I lashed two identical cages together so they share a wall, so the Budgies could be gender segregated and still feel like a flock. I'm thinking they should be about 36 and 48 in human years!!!
They have made some beak contact but not sure I see any food passing back or forth. I'm keeping my fingers SO CROSSED that next regurgitation season brings them sharing food with each other and not messing up the cage bars.

I'm thinking he is a good candidate because of what was said earlier, about him adjusting his flight to manage a small opening- in a curtain, was that? You should do it. Bell is the only IRN playing fetch I ever heard of. Surely he can represent America in this flying thing.

Search this site for taming information. Depending on where you live, sure, your bird could be feral or stolen from the wild. He could also be aviary raised and need taming. He could also be human raised but afraid of something in the environment you have created for him. What is a "parrot trai...
