Re: Nila's advice for new birds
Nila, you are a star! Wonderful advice you giving for us birdies that don't have trust in our humans. But i'm lucky to have such a patient human. What can I do to make my human understand that I hate to go in the cage and its ok for me to sleep on the playtree. I don't see why should I go to sleep i...

Hey everyone, Lovely thread this, with plenty of useful info!
Missk, your contact call/whistle idea sounds great. I'll try it out.
Kiwi also love to be sprayed and spreads his wings and dances around while i'm misting him. At least I get to be part of his bathing time!

Hi, welcome Erin, Hope you got the other wing trimmed and evened up. Try putting a playtree right next to her cage with some food hanging on, then maybe she will go onto it, and you can move the tree further away slowly, as she gets used to going on it.

Hi, welcome. Wishing you lots of luck with your birds. I have a ringneck,Kiwi and cockatiel, Coco, and thank God they don't hate each other, in fact Kiwi made an effort to get Coco to like him! Now Coco is quite used to him and isn't as scared for Kiwi as he was when Kiwi just came.

Hi, I don't think an IRN would go wild if you don't spend a day or weekend with it. When I had a female handraised ringneck I would leave her one day every month, come back late at night and only see her the next morning, and she would be fine, ready to play with me again. Make sure she won't be bor...

Thats a good idea to break the peanut up, its actually whole nuts in a shell with 2 inside. No shoulder for my birds. My favourite place is my left arm, Coco sits there, and I can work with him on my left arm.
