my boys do the head back thing too,they also regurgitate to eachother and display to eachother.They are definately males and one is irn and the other is alexandrian.

He will be itchy with the feathers coming in,now is a good time to get him used to you touching him,try giving him a little scratch around his head and at the base of his neck and rub his beak . the beak look ok,they get red later on. I mix in some stewed apples or pumpkin ect into the formula so they get a little extra vitamins. Its good that your asking questions,soon you will be able to help others.

looks alex to me.Some breeders cross irn with alexs so there is that chance too. check out the thread i posted (first line) that bird is pretty well feathered and only just has the red coming through.

for the pics i use dropshots,i go to dropshots or other photo hosting sites and click on the pic i want (after its been uploaded to the site) i right click and click properties and copy the image location. come back to this board and paste it into here and then people can click on it and see the pic.

im not quite sure exactly how old mika is in this first pic but you should be able to tell by how much feathers from mine to yours .the next pic down is mika (alex) and spike (irn) they are around the same age and you can see the size difference. http://media5.dropshots.com/photos/60363/20071020/120...

Its pretty common for the eggs not to hatch with a first time hen.They may not have actually got it right with mating yet.

i get a clean syringe (without needle) and put some luke warm water in it and squirt it on the part that has food on it then give a gentle wipe over with a cloth.I wouldnt reccomend saturating him though.

I had rabbits and guinea pigs in the bottom of my aviary,oscar my male would steal their food and kinda make a game out of it. the only thing is be careful that the guinea pigs dont dig and let the birds out.

im a shift worker,i go to work as it gets dark. Id say the alarm noises are an alarm clock or similar that your bird has associated with the sun going down.

was the person you got her from a shift worker by any chance? My alex was doing alarm clock noises as soon as the lights turned on in the mornings and then the smoke alarm beeps (battery running out).This got old very quick and the alarm clock disappeared and i now use my ph for the alarm.

does Tajj have any signs of red around the ring area. My boy indie's ring started with a tiny red dot at the back. most colors ring starts under the beak and goes around to the back but lutino starts at the back.

I have both. I can say they are different but muchly the same. Mika never learnt to bite,he thinks putting his beak on us is biting. He can shred a thick perch in a day but doesnt know how to bite :? He will still need formula, just not as often. When you do give him formula make it a little thicker to keep him going longer. Try putting things like corn kernells and peas ect in a bowl as kaiser&abbey mentioned they play around with it and throw it around ect but they eventually end up eating...
