I feel really bad for your bird....please buy him some toys and check out your local second-hand shops/eBay for some bigger cages. He needs space to play and move around without knocking his feathers all the time as well as different shaped perches (some being natural) for his feet. If you're concer...

Give it time. Offer it lots of good things to eat (veg and fruit) and talk to it daily. After awhile it should become used to your presence and then gradually you should be able to get closer to it. Older birds that aren't tame will take alot more time than a hand raised baby, but it can be done, an...

Three weeks is not a long time! Take it slow, after all she's probably going to be spending the rest of her life with you. Offer her treats and talk with her while she's in her cage and eventually she'll come round.
Perhaps take out the toys that annoy her, and remember that patience is the key!

Chocobo will throw all of his toys off of the coffee table or outside table too. I believe he thinks it is fun to watch me (or the kids) pick them up, just to drop them down again. (Kinda like a baby throwing it's rattle out of the pram)

Odd wing?

Sometimes when Chocobo flaps his wings and glides/falls to the floor, if he bumps into something on the way down, he'll look like he's hurt, and hold his right wing up and out in a weird manner. This really scares me as he'll wiggle the wing up and down as he tries to get it back into place (it look...

I just checked my children's height chart, and in my opinion 1 and a half inches is way too wide. You might have to get some chicken wire (or something similar) to put around the outside. These birds just know how to get themselves in trouble!

Hi Leo, from what I've read on here, the moult can start at around 15 to 24 months of age (sometimes earlier or later depending on the bird) so He/She could be going through their first major moult and if so, the ring will be revealed-if it's a male. :)
