Also, when you're starting to train her, you need to get her at the right moment, when her body language tells you she's ready to fly to you for a treat. If you know where she likes to hang out, once she coes to you, you can put her in her fav spot so that she learns that just because she flies to y...

Janey does like to keep you on your toes, doesn't she! She certainly doesn't leave ANY room for complacency. She is a challenge but we love her sooooo much that she's definitely worth it! I must say that her nesting behaviour has been easier to manage this year than last year despite still presenti...

It's possible but I think she might just be playing. Janey tends to try to crawl under the fabric when she is in nesting mode.

Janey hasn't regurgitated to us. She has a male bird, so she can regurgitate to him. With foraging, start to introduce extra challenge e.g. by wrapping the food in paper. Regarding diet changes, my observation has been that these are long term strategies, not short term ones, so you need to keep it ...

Thought I'd do a 2013 update on Janey's nesting behaviour. So far this breeding season, we haven't given in and given her a nest box yet although she is still investigating potential nesting places. Claire, when you say Sellotape, do you mean masking type (white tape)? I think of Sellotape as being clear tape which I've never heard as being safe for parrots. I could be wrong or maybe we have a cultural difference?

MissK could be right but it could also be that Luna is establishing a pair bond with you... and if that is the case, you want to discourage it. It is not healthy for a bird to have a pair bond with a human. Don't panic though, you haven't given enough information to indicate that is definitely a pai...
