I wouldn't worry too much. If it goes on for much longer, go to the vet.
I took Fats outside in his travel cage yesterday for a little UV filled sunlight... his feathers looked very nice today. I don't know if it is related.

Oh that poor little guy! I just want to come over there and speak softly to him and feed him apples. I can't give much advice, but I might assume he may have some nutritional deficiencies. Where do you live? My Fats is 5 months in a few days... He's clearly been molting cause there are feathers a little bit everywhere. I got home from work rather late last night, the living room was already dark, but I decided to go bother Fats anyway. Last time we had our QP Camo to the vet, he weighed in at 104. But we know he is on the small side for a quaker. And he's flighted--so he's fit as a fiddle. 140g QP sounds like he's pretty big! Fats, the IRN is taller than Camo, and a little heavier. Even though he's only just less than 5 months old...

I am fascinated. If I had to pick between the stripped oils theory and the chlorine theory, I would have to pick chlorine as the cause of the "bleaching" or purple effect. Do we know what the general chemical makeup of a feather is? Keratin? I'm going to look this up. My sister is a chemic...

Fats really loves chewing on popsicle sticks. He chewed through one a month ago so I bought a couple more... seems like good fun. I put one in the cage yesterday morning before heading to work. The point is that it has VOCs. VOC's=not good You as a human can be ok with a little paint fume. you are so much bigger and can process it out of your body before it becomes a problem. Birdies are so much smaller. If you are hiring someone to paint the whole place, I would board them. You will have ...

I really think you'll want to board them... Those fumes are bad for humans let alone birdies. I'm going to piggy back on this thread...
Fats has been making growling noises while he thrashes his shreader balls and throws them around his cage. He's pretty much acting like a dog. Is that normal? I can't successfully interact with him in this state, he just lunges if I interupt his violent play.
