Ugh, chewing nails about sums it up. I'm not gonna call to check on them until wednesday or thursday.... dont want to seem too anxious. Re: Going out of town... birds to be caged

Easier said than done. I've had my job for 7 years so there's a certain amount of comfort level involved. The birds will be fine, I just feel really bad for them. If neko could fly I would just put them both in the aviary and put a tarp over the to, however that isn'tthe case. So mr bell will now pa...

My lutino was clipped when I got him and so he took a few nasty spills. He also ended up with a couple bloody tail feathers. As far as I can tell it's basically harmless as long as it's a very small amount and not continuing to bleed. Maybe it's self inflicted. Keep an eye out. My bird didn't have n...

Re: Going out of town... birds to be caged

Well it's done. I'm gone and the birds are cage bound until next saturday. I felt rotten about doing it but I did supply new toys and foraging for mr bell. I also moved his cage next to nekos and put him by the window where he used to be before I got neko. That seemed to calm him down pretty well. H...

Going out of town... birds to be caged

On occasion the nature of my job pulls me out of town. This hasn't happened in two years, but now I'm being sent away for 2 weeks. My first thoughts are about my birds. They will receive fresh food and water while i'm gone but there will be No out of cage time. From sunday all the way to friday they...

So don't consider that label as being a complete negative.

I have two birds,.. bird1 and bird2 Bird1 wants nothing more than to be friends with bird2.... but bird2 wants nothing more than to be left alone so they clash. That "where's sapphire, peekaboo" game is my bird's favorite. He would rather do that than get treats to fetch a ball, .. which I think is cool because it s hows that he's more engaged in the activity than singing for his supper. He has recently decided (again) that going to his cage at ni...

I don't use millet for training for a few reasons, including because my birds think it is a very low value treat. I have found a great training use for millet (sorry to divert from the appropriate subject). There is tension between my birds. They both love millet. So I use millet to keep them on th...

Yes, chocolate is very toxic, so is salt. A little salt is ok, and by that I mean a tiny nibble once every couple of weeks. Now how to reintroduce her to bird food. First determine the food she likes that is safe like toast or something without salt or butter. Feed her that to keep her from starving...

You can use really warm water... by the time it bounces off the wall in the form of mist it's pretty cool... and the warmer water hitting the shower wall keeps the surrounding air warm.

So, my bird raided my trash can and stole a piece of fatty, greasy pork fat. It took me a few minutes to notice he wasn't following me around the house. So I went to check on him, and there he was, stolen piece of fried fat dripping with grease.. and eating the hell out of it. So, i took it from him...
