Our pair are obviously odd... I would call Janey occasionally "passionate" with us: bit first, ask questions later.... (although that seems to have settled down now).... Our male IRN seems to dominate her. I have no idea why. I wonder if it will change as they get older? He is almost one ...

Ours are housed in the dining room which adjoins the kitchen. Should we be moving them? Epoxy coatings (powder and painted/baked) are the standard among bird cages. As long as the material itself is child/pet safe and not lead based it should be fine.

Simple. I put the fear of God into all our dogs. *cough* What I mean is. You put the bird on the stand or in a small cage on the floor and bring the dog in and you sit on the floor forcing your dog to lay next to you. Every time your dog so much as looks at your bird, you discipline. That doesn't me...

Greasy? No... Perhaps he hasn't been grooming himself, which could be an indication of illness along with his inactivity and fluffing.
Do take him to a vet. If he does have something you will want to know if it is communicable since your birds have been spending time with one another.

Acorns are fine. Your bird might even prefer the 'unripe' ones still hanging on the branches. I found nothing toxic about the Hedge Apples/Osage Orange. I found that the milky substance inside the fruit can be a skin irritant and that most animals seem to find the fruit unpalatable. Walnuts are safe...
