Re: 3 toes forward on one foot and need advice after vet vis

Hi. Sympathies for the situation. Questions 1, 2 & 5 are for the vet you just saw. Call them. I'm not qualified to prognosticate on the future of the toe, though if I were keeping that bird (as opposed to returning him) I would be seeing the second vet and seeking to retrain the toe despite lack...

Hi. I can't say if the eye or beak is a problem, but I thank you for questioning if she is suitable to breed. Is she fully mature? Perhaps some breeders can say if they think Albinos are often smaller or more delicate. I realize that Budgies are not Ringnecks, but I have a small flock of Budgies, an...

They can mention you lost your bird and direct people to one of your posted flyers. ...

Re: Sudden Aggression

I think your IRN cage is too small. You can put a sight barrier between the cages - could be a sheet of newspaper or a cloth hung on the side of the finch cage. My Canaries could not tolerate the stress of living with the IRN and they were not side by side so I moved them to another room.

Backwards first, why shouldn't closed gate = treats in cage? It's a half full/half empty thing, no? You can try reserving the #1 jackpot treat for the back to cage lure, and you can make sure the cage is not a punishment - is it truly big enough? Got great things inside? My #1 advice: Don't do stuff that upsets your bird. Causing him to bite you would fall in this category.

Tell us what you did that got you bitten. Maybe we can find a gentler way to get the result you were hoping for. It's probably going to involve some treats.

Peachy, I don't think the lack of you nearby caused aggression. You *can* live your normal life. Fine point, that Kiwi currently enjoys going into other birds' territory. From our experience, with well matured birds, Rocky enjoyed meeting other birds in general, but I recall one experience when he went to visit another IRN that didn't go so great. He loved the other bird from across the room, i...
