Re: "PBFD" - Feather and Beak
I'm not so sure anyone will ever really know the root of the disease. But the disease is shown to be caused by one of two common strands of viruses; Similar to HIV vs. AIDS. But unlike HIV or AIDS, PBFD can be transferred more commonly. Something as simple as feather dust can transfer the virus thro...

Re: "PBFD" - Feather and Beak
Clawnz...I never heard of more than one strain. Interesting. I thought it affected SC2 and Rosellas the same way. If they are able to recover, they eventually succumb to the secondary diseases and infections from permanent beak damage and a compromised immune system. It would be interesting to know ...

Re: "PBFD" - Feather and Beak
PBFD has been around since the late 1800's in Australia. It is not new. And people have to expect it to be present as well as numerous other diseases, due to the large amount of wild caught birds used in breeding programs. Not all breeders test. You also have to expect that shipping conditions that ...

Does he have foraging toys? What is his diet? Has your family dynamic changed at all? Tell us as much as you can ...

Ino does not eliminate structure 100%, proven by the tinge of green or blue on Lutino and Albinos. A true Pied (I don't think Dom Pied is a text book Pied) does eliminate all structure so depending on the species there are two colours of yellow on an Lutino Pied bird. Squawking is something subconsciously taught to birds. IRN's love attention. They demand attention. Any kind whether its positive or negative. It is second nature when your bird is squawking to go to the cage and see what's wrong, or say quiet to the bird. But without knowing it, you are reinforcing...

What if all of those "normal" blue babies weren't all normal blues but were actually sf cobalts? They can a lot if the time closely resemble a normal blue. JayJess didn't mention what the original babies were paired with so I'm lost after that.
