Baby is getting bullied by Buddy pretty good right now too. He isnt pouty, more alert... I would say. I am now MAKING them share a stand beause Buddy is mean and bites other birds. Hard. My birds have sense enough to flee than to fight so when one flees the perch... right back up like nothing happen...

Poor Gilbert, I bet he is MEAN by now... lack of sleep makes my babies hateful. Like Katey said... can you leave him out? See how that works? None of my babies ever see cages so I dont know how others homes are set up. If all else fails, AND LAST RESORT, we might actually have to cover half of his c...

Er, the metric system. They should teach us that in school. I made my children learn it because I believe we will go to the metric system in their lifetime. Mine probably. m m Makes things a lot easier and mistakes and misunderstandings fewer. Downside, American's have to learn the metric system... ...

Yes Topaz... I sure will. Now mind you, he is a scared bird I have only had about a month but he has come around enough: A: not to flee from me B to learn step up and some speech. He steps up very clumsy though because this is entirely new to him. He thinks he must flutter up, bless his heart. He'll...

Baby has never known flight so he doesnt care and is very agile. Buddy was always with flight until he came here. He still squats to take off them remembers, poor thing. He is a lot more clumsy than he should be... bet its because he is getting use to being trimmed. He is so precious stepping up... ...

Re: Bullys
Good to make the info known but remember your pets, your home, your decision, this board is full of individuals with individual opinions on how to train/feed/breed/raise IRN. However each person makes their own choice on all things and no one has the right to say you're wrong. Facts are facts such ...

I love him so much Girl! His color is to die for. When I walked in that day and saw him for the first time, I couldnt believe it. Males look REALLY good after 3 years. Both of my boys make like a whimpering sound but they are content so I suppose it just 'sounds' sad to us because we are programmed to think a whimper to mean pain, physical or emotional. Not the case with my fids, Baby especially, who is a big talker. He goes into the whimpering/napping trance stat...

Although each of my birds own cages, none of them ever go into them. Ever. My home is bird proof and lacking of cats and dogs. It's actually kindof funny to watch this little bird chase around my 110 lb husky. Hope this gives you a little hope. Ringnecks aren't naturaly social birds. In the quote above I just have to shake my head. There's an accident waiting to happen there. You should never let your bird around the dogs ...

If you want an active, 2 yr old that never grows up, the ringneck is for you! Because of ringnecks personalities and owners personalities, I cant tell you if an IRN will work for you. So, I'll tell you what I know so you can decide. We all work a lot, they do fine alone as long as we make up for it ...

I have seasonal depression, associated with lack of sunlight and warmth. m Mine was so bad, I lived every day of my life in a way that got me one step closer to Florida. We make all of our stands. They love them because we personalize them to how they play. This is Buddy, my new fid...

Here are some pics of my 'Buddy' getting tucked in for the night. I have had him about a month and he is now stepping up, not fleeing and seems to be very happy! Our aussies will be along soon to help! Congrats on the new baby! Does your baby seem 'ok'? No watery eyes, sneezing, food issues? Those are usually first indicators of sickness.
