He could have a physical problem making him unable to vocalize. I have no experience in that, but I find it hard to believe he would never make a vocalization and have a working voice. A Vet would be able to tell you if you care that much about it.

We take our IRN and Quaker in the shower with us. ONe sits on a suction cup perch, the other on the curtain rod (they don't behave well enough to share the perch). After I'm done washing in the water that is hot enough for me, I add cold water to the stream. It stays warm enough that I don't feel to...

That looks like a male ring coming in. It would be the right time frame for it. I have heard that females can have a faint ring too--but based on how gray that is, salsa is probably a boy.

I change Fats' water every morning. It's in a little pyrex dish on the floor of his cage. Every evening when I come home, there is a ball in the water dish. If it is a dyed vine ball, the water will be some exotic color. Twice this week, I have come home and found not-a-ball but his seed dish in his...

I had a funny moment yesterday amist a sad day. Yesterday morning my grandfather died. I am a wreck. I have been on and off crying since then. He should be ok for one night. make sure he has more than one water dish if he has any habit of knocking his over. you could also put a radio on a timer if you are worried about him being lonely. We have to leave our birdies home. one's a Quaker parrot and he's not allowed in pennsylvania ( or jersey)

Come to think of it MissK, Camo moulted in January of last year very lightly and then has had this tremendous ongoing moult this summer.
The guy who owns the bird store in Columbia, MD mentioned that twice a year is not uncommon.
