Re: When should babies be removed from the parents?

Do a search in this forum, there's lots of info on handraising, you should try to learn as much as you can before taking them out. I suggest in your case to take them out at 3 weeks old. some take it at 2 but i don't recommend the first time you do it. You need to know: how many times and when to f...

Re: When should babies be removed from the parents?

If you have never hand-fed a parrot before, i suggest you should not remove them. Better to have parent raised chicks then dead chicks and a sour experience. You will need to be prepared with a brooder to keep them warm, tools such as syringe, spoon , formula etc Try to find a breeder that has done...

Kappa,

Alpha male is just a brain exercise, can't even categorise as a theory.
I believe Shey mentions hen or male becuase she thinks in terms of:
males to be edged
hens to be normal

is that so Shey?

PS: Shey, yes it does seem to be a hen, i can see black feathers popping, right?

Nothing you can do now, best to just let them be.
The cracked egg sounds fertile but normally cracked eggs end up with die in shell, unless you lucky.
You could candle the other 2 eggs if they look dark leave everything as is.

I can say that my pairs that i checked laid late evening.
Although, the few that double clutched started to understand the rutine and were waiting for me to go through and then go in the box. so i had to do a third check to make sure that the eggs is and was there.

In that pic your male seems as if the head is pure white but the rest of the body a washed out color, greyish blue
in which case he would make a candidate for pallidino or light phase pallid.
Is the bird all white overall uniform white or more like what i described above?
