I need to repair a toy. The only way I can see to fix it is with glue. Does anyone use glue? I've read Elmer's (child-safe, FDA approved) is okay but I've never seen that brand in Australia.

Charlie talking to his "granddad"
So I was talking to my dad on the phone and at the end of the conversation, Charlie flies onto my shoulder (he loves chewing phones). My dad, who grew up with a farming background and is always telling me you shouldn't treat pets like they're your children, starts talking to Charlie. So I put dad on...

Very happy! I discovered Pet City today! Thanks for the tip, Claire in the Air! http://www.petcity.com.au/ They have a reasonably extensive range of bird products. Does anyone use a steam cleaner (without detergent) on their bird's cage? If so, which one do you use? How good do you find it? How often do you use it? Hi Amanda I think you need to brief your visitors really well... and if they don't respond appropriately, then you need to keep them away from your bird using one of the means mentioned above. Interesting.... we have the opposite problem... we want to socialise our birds with people more but most of those who come over aren't that interested.
I guess you need to try to explain to people how to interact with them and show them how to do it?

In addition to what Molossus has said, I'd recommend increasing foraging. You can do a search on here for threads on foraging. See if you can be her only source of treats. Hi Panos It is possible that they won't bond. How old is your female? I think to maximise the chances of her bonding with the bird your father should stop interacting with her for a while. I know that might be hard, but it is probably best for the long run? Other members of your family could then al...

Hi Subodhhire I don't know much about handraising baby birds - but I think you are on the right track by offering them sprouting beans. I remember when we first brought Janey home, although she was weaned, the breeder recommended feeding her sprouting seed every day for the first little while. Ellie.

I agree with Subodh. I think you need to look after the needs of the bird you have before getting another bird. Either finding a new home with a mate or you could look for a hand raised tiel that you can tame and then be a companion for your tiel.
Good luck with your decisions.
