Re: Mutation of my bird ?
Hi Vinayv92 The scruffy chest feathers tells me the bird is not to healthy , I would have a vet look at this bird urgently How old is the bird ? It looks like a Blue Pied Pallid , But the Pied part could also be a resault of the bird not beeing well.(PBFD or Kidney disorder)If kidney is the problem ...

Hi Leigh For your aunts pairs I would put 1) Lutino X Lutino (Breed Lutino young) 2)Grey X Blue (Breed Grey and Blue young) 3)Green X Green (Breed Green young) . This way all the young are clean birds with no splits. EG Lutino for a Turquoise or 2 Greens for a different colour ETC . She could then s...

Re: My IRN Bobbles His Head Like a Wave, What Does it Mean?
Hi Newbie I have seen similar behaviour at a friends place , This was a wild bird and he had also lost his balance . He was struggeling to fly when we where near the cage , But when we moved away he seened fine . I think it is a stress related issue , It took the bird months to return to his normal ...

Re: Violet green or Dark green ?
The angle you took the pic at is not very clear , you need to take a pic of the birds tail directly from behind , That will help with the Id . when you look at the bird in direct sunlight you will know it is violet green (It will have a blue wash over the green feathers) my guess is its a violet gre...

I agree with Ricio
The tail looks like it has dye on it.
It might be bleech or peroxide that is involved here .
But it looks good , we might have a new fasion trend in the making (change after every moult )

It depends what you want to breed out of the birds. If you want to breed Violets then the DF Violet would be my option. DF violet Blue with a Blue partner will give you 100% Violet Blue Babys. If you want to breed the dark factor then the cobalt Violet would be my option . In saying that I would sti...

My advice to you is to put the hen with the cock and not the other way around as the hen could be agressive in her own terretory . I think you should look at the position of your nestbox . If the air can flow directly into your box and the tempreture changes rapidly , Hot days with cold nights , This might be your problem . If the sun shines directly onto your nestbox , it could also heat the nest to a tempreture that kills the...

I dont think you will be able to tell the diffrence unless you test breed.
If you go to direct sunlight with the bird you might see a tinge of colour on the rump of the bird
