Haha yeah we play in the park too. But i think it would be more visible indoors. We played it again yesterday for another 2 hours and we were much better. Actually managed an average volley of 14 hits. But you're right its fun and really fast. I was surprised to see the only difference between the ...

Hi Joanie, I know someone who claims to have given her budgies Forsythia flowers. She said they lived well over 10 years. But thats just one person, I know. Hi Mindy and welcome to the forum :) I hope you dont mind me commenting on the name, as its really not my business. Re: IRN age question
Hi :) They mostly develop rings at the age of 2 and up. I know some birds that only had it toward their 3rd year. 1 year is reasonably odd but I'm not sure if its impossible. The ring develops as a males sign of maturity. So its related to hormonal changes as well among other things. If you draw a ...

Pink Devil is right but dont try to pull em out. If you do it yourself, its painful. See, shes trying to fly, which is a good thing. You wouldnt have to help her to fly later. Since she is crashing, make sure she doesnt jump from too high a spot or provide her with a soft landing. Because, if she m...

Re: Help please anyone, really need it
The funny thing about indian ringnecks is that they're one of the very few parrot species that dont mate for life. This is good for us humans as they dont tend to bond too strongly to one particular person in the family. The result is a more social bird. The bad part is they've a natural instinct t...

Hi and welcome. Is there anything in his environment that could've changed? I dont know how important the color of the toenails are in breeding, as for genetic reasons I prefer wild colored birds but our ringy has greyish and not black toenails although he is wild colored. His parents are lutino and blue. Its not black toenails like those I've seen on other ringnecks :)

Hi, what do you mean it hasnt grown back completely? Are the feathers their full length or are they still coming out of the shafts? When you separate them in 2 cages, are they in the same room? Could be that they scream to call out to one another. You did the right thing with separating them because I've seen instances with parrots, that when the owner comes home to a dead male (most of the time). If she doesnt like her cage bu...

i dont give ours more than a pinch or two at a time. I dont really know whats inside wholewheat toast but I read somewhere that the bread has too much salt and something else for birds. Most people bake it themselves without all the bird bad stuff.

Whats the matter with his face? About his age and sex, one kinda relates to the other. If he is under 3 years old, he could pretty much be a female. If your bird is older than 3, then its definitely a female.

Well since the recommended intake for an African grey is only 2 teaspoons a day and 1 for small birds like the IRN, I'd say that the diet shouldnt primarily consist of seed. Fat can be derived from carbohydrates like rice and sweet potatoes (given once in awhile), not necessary from seeds. 1 teaspo...

Sometimes they do that. They get territorial about their cage and they dont like your hand in there. But if his attitude towards you is changing, it could be he is goiong through that 'biting phase'. Its obvious that how you handle a bird during this phase, plays a big role in how he will react to ...

Thats really good. I'm happy that you're making progress. Once he starts taking the food from your hand, you could try to put your hand inside the cage with the food in your palm.
