Agreed, are there any vets open that you could call or take Jaws to? Datsun had a much lesser but similar incident this week and I rushed my baby in my robe to the vets, if there are internal problems he could die by tomorrow.. I do not mean to frighten you but a vet check is the best possible thing...

Same as people, Datsun's eyes change from bloodshot to clear depending on how he slept and how he is feeling etc.. perfectly normal

I would highly reccommend no shoulder time if you baby is biting ears and lips, shoulders are a privilage not a right and if your bird cannot be trusted keep him/her on your hand until the behaviour ceases.

I agree with Angie, being so young Gizmo will adjust to the wing clip quickly and the feathers will grow back. I feel it will make taming and training much easier, making Gizmo so much more reliant on you.. it is a personal call though and only you can decide if you want to clip your baby.

I believe your ringneck is actually an indian though I may be wrong.

Indian and African Ringnecks are very similar in looks but African Ringnecks tend to be smaller and have a more maroon beak than their cousins.

My guys stay home alone a lot. I work full time and my partner averages 55 hours a week... but weekends are fid time and they get snuggles every night.. We find they enjoy "their time" as much as we enjoy our time away from them. Of course their cages are FULL of toys and new ones come oft...

Aww congrats!!!! He sure will be stunning when that ring shows through. Like Angie says, its unbelievable the way it grows in, almost as though if you blink you'll miss it, I took photos daily of Dats but its still hard to believe it all happened in 2-3 weeks.
