Re: How should i introduce my two ringnecks?

Hi! Just an update! They are still caged separately.. I introduced the boys as advised on here, and all seemed to go well, they have play time out together pretty much every day. They would have the odd squabble (oddly they were always indtigated by Charlie) but George would put him in his place and...

How should i introduce my two ringnecks?

Hi Everyone! :D Last time i posted a topic on here it was about how i should go about taming my mature male ringneck George (age unknown). Im not sure if i said in my other post, but i used to have budgies in my bedroom with George, but at the start of summer, i built them an outdoor aviary. George ...

Re: I'm in need of a little advice and reassurance

Hi all, I blocked up George's cage this evening by 2ft, and he seems to like it, he is more eager to play with the toys on the bottom half of his cage. I plan to buy some more perches and toys for the bottom half now that he is using it :) image.jpg He seems to be going through fazes, one day he'll ...

Re: I'm in need of a little advice and reassurance

Thank you so much, you have really helped me. Turns put the breeze blocks I thought we had have been dumped, but I will be raising the cage as soon as I can get some more, hopefully then he will use the lower half of his cage more as he won't feel so uncomfortable of being down low. As for the wings...

Re: I'm in need of a little advice and reassurance

Hi! Thank you for the advice everyone, I remember my dad bringing home some breeze blocks home so when I get home today I will block up his cage and send a new picture. I have read that of their cage is higher than you and they are on top a lot of the time that they can get territorial and aggressiv...

I'm in need of a little advice and reassurance

Hi all, so about 2 months ago I bought an untame, full grown male Indian ringneck. I have always wanted a parrot and saved up for a long time, gradually buying everything I would need for my own ringneck, finally I got him and brought him home. I posted a new topic on here about when I first got him...

Re: My parrot has started lunging at me and moving away?

Ok so Tuesday George seemed to be back to normal, eager to come out and happily practiced target training, this may have been because I was out all day so was excited when I came home? However over last night and today he seems to have started lunging again and doesn't want to come out.. I left the ...

Re: My parrot has started lunging at me and moving away?

Also I forgot to mention, it seemed strange to me how quickly George came around to me considering he was 'aviary bred' it just seemed odd He screamed for the first day, then every now and then on the 2nd and 3rd, and now he has pretty much stopped It's so difficult when you don't know their full hi...

Re: My parrot has started lunging at me and moving away?

Thank you everyone for the feedback.. The training technique is based on clicker training (click and then give him a treat) so he gets used to expecting a treat after hearing the click. I then used a chopstick and offered him the end and when he touched it gave him a treat, but every time I did a tr...

My parrot has started lunging at me and moving away?

Hi I am a new owner and I have had my parrot George for 3 weeks. I also have 2 budgies which I have had for a year. George was aviary bred and not had any human contact (apart from being caught when I bought him) so was pretty much wild. I started slow with him and offered him treats through his cag...
